A country weekend

I really, really enjoyed my weekend!! Started with a very relaxing drive to pick up Megan at camp north of Bandera. The original plan was to spend the night in Kerrville, then take her back to camp for another week on Sunday. I took my bike to get in a training ride for Hotter'N'Hell Hundred - more on that later!. Turned out Megan was wanting to come home for a week, then go back for the final week. It's a one week program but she loves the place and went the first two weeks.

The hotel room was already paid for and it was too late to cancel, so we decided to spend the night in Kerrville anyway. We went to see Batman - the Dark Knight and wow! What a movie!! Heath Ledger's performance was Academy award winning stuff, simply brilliant! Back to the hotel and swimming with Meggers while mom relaxed some. I had thought about riding a 71 mile route I had seen on cycletexas.com, but honestly the ride description really intimidated me - it has a HC (Beyond Category!) climb as well as a Cat 2 and a Cat 3 climb. Here is the route: Fredericksburg-Kerrville-Fredericksburg
